Fight against terrorism: new capacities of monitoring of the police services

Video surveillance, data processing private, identity check in the international landing gear, automated photographs… The law on the “fight against terrorism” is appeared with the Official journal Tuesday, January 24, 2006. Here its political tendencies:

 
Recourse extended to the video surveillance
The installation of cameras of video surveillance from now on is allowed in and the “immediate surroundings” of the public buildings. It is the same “in places and establishments open to the public” which are “particularly exposed at the risks of aggression or flight or are likely to be exposed with terrorist acts”. In the event of urgency, the prefects will be able to make install cameras for four months in places at the risks.

 
Control international and landing gear

International voyages and private life

Authorization of the automated capture of radiographs of the passengers of the vehicles “in all suitable points of the territory”. Justice and terrorism
The penal sanctions for the terrorist acts are weighed down. The maximum duration of police custody is carried from four to six days. The time during which a forfeiture of nationality possible for one is condemned after its naturalization passes from 10 to 15 years.
