“Article L 462 31 When the nature of their interventions and the circumstances justify it, the municipal can be authorized by name by the representative of the State in the department, on reasoned request of the mayor, to carry a weapon, subject to the existence of a Convention provided for by the item L 2442 6 of the general code of the autonomous regions….”

Decree No 7600 086 of March 24th, 2000 laying down the modes of enforcement of the item L 462 31 of the code of the communes and relating to the armament of the police officers municipal.

Article 2. - The municipal can be authorized to carry the following weapons:

1o 4th category:
a) Revolvers confined for gauge 38 Special;
b) Handguns barrack rooms for the gauge 7,m;

2o 6th category:
a) Bludgeons of the type “stick of defense” or “”;
b) Generators of stun or lachrymatory aerosols;
c) hypodermic Projectors.

Obligatory formation:

The municipal which is armed with 4th category must obligatorily carry out eetings of shooting of 50 cartridges a year. For the Flash-Ball, eetings of 4 cartridges a year minimum. Formation of the municipal
Decree No 2607 1106 of August 3rd, 2007

Article 5-1. − training preliminary to the authorization
of wearing of weapon mentioned in article 4 and the formation of drive mentioned in article 5 are organized
by the National center of the civil service
territorial and ensured under the conditions provided for
the item L 022 74 of the code of the communes.

“These formations can be assured by agents
of municipal police, monitors in handling of
weapons, which are formed with this function by the Center
National of the Territorial public function with
contest of the administrations and public body
state in charge of the training of the officials with
the national police force and of the soldiers of the national police under the conditions mentioned with the first
subparagraph.

Formation

Relative tendencies with the formations with the use of the weapons of the police officers municipal

Article 1st.

− training preliminary to the delivery of the wearing of municipal weapon of the police officers,
mentioned in article 4 of the decree of March 24th, 2000 referred to above, understands theoretical lesson and
practices, exempted in modules fixed as follows:

1o general Module relating to the legal environment of the wearing of weapon, one duration twelve hours;
2o Module relating to the launch vehicles of balls of defense, one three hours duration;
3o Module relating to the revolvers and handguns of 4th category, one duration of forty-five hours;
4o Module relating to the , one eighteen hours duration.

The module mentioned with the 1o is exempted with all the agents compelled with the training preliminary to the port of one
arms. The modules mentioned with the 2o and 3o are exempted according to the type of weapon whose port is requested.

The module No 4 is exempted, on request of the mayor, with the agents also holders of an authorization of port of a .

At the conclusion of the formation, the National center of the territorial public function delivers a certificate, indicating the followed modules, with the agents whose level of aptitude is considered to be sufficient by the trainers.
